His Serene Highness the Emir of Kushan

The current ruling Emir is His Serene Highness Muhammid Adan Khan.

His full name is

Muhammid Omar Adan Salah al-Din abdul-Kadar.

He ascended the throne on 23, October, 2009 (1430 A.H.)

following the passing of Emir Muhammid Reza Pahlavi

(who ruled from 1989-2009).

Under Pahlavi, Emir Adan Khan served as Defense

Minister, Interior Minister, and Prime Minister.

Kushan is NOT a hereditary monarchy.

Emir Adan Khan served in the Mashadistan military

having fought in the Delu Wars (1394 AH) and the

Jara-Nasi Wars (1406-1410 AH). He has been a career

soldier and has been described as being intelligent,

strong, and charismatic by his fellow officers.

He presently holds the ranks of Amir-al General

(Admiral-General) and Supreme Military Commander (Kushan).

His Serene Highness Emir Adan Khan I, was born and raised in Mashadistan to a princely family. However,

he spent much of his youth among the Bedouin and shepherds on the Steppe lands of Mashadistan. The

Bedouin and especially the shepherds of Mashadistan are primarily of Turko-Mongul stock. Emir Adan spent

much of his youth in the wilderness with the Bedouin/shepherds where he learned many survival

skills and how to live off of the land. As a result, he adopted many of the customs and views of the Turko-Monguls.

As a young man he was often criticized by the royals in Mashadistan for his “barbarian lifestyle.” It

might be noted that Emir Abbas is the grandson of Shah Faisal I who ruled Mashadistan from 1950-1979 and the

son of Mashadistan's Crown Prince Hussein (d. 2009).

Emir Adan Khan has been highly instrumental in the development of Kushan into a modern Islamic state.

Often he is seen helping the common people work and, in fact, he considers himself one of the common

people. Although Kushan has an elaborate royal palace, Emir Abbas rarely stays in it and uses it

mostly for ceremonial occasions (the palace is also the home of parliament). Instead His Highness can

most often be found at the smaller Sonora Palace (which has become the de facto royal residence). He

can also often be found in a tent in the midst of the Kushan wilderness with Bedouin and shepherd tribes.

Many of these tribes are the same Turko-Mongul tribes that he grew up with and who migrated to Kushan

following the Jara-Nasi Wars in 1989/1410 A.H.).

Emir Adan Khan is highly educated holding several undergraduate degrees and two doctorate degrees. He

enjoys studying history, politics, hiking, exploring, riding horses, swimming, etc. Recently, His Highness

established a national health care system for all Kushan citizens by Royal Decree. He has also been

highly instrumental in improving relations with the Dharbin Sultanate which were soared at the end of the

Jara-Nasi Wars when the Dharbin abandoned their Kushan allies on the battlefield in the midst of the Battle

of Holyrook (December, 1987). In that infamous battle the Jara-Nasi routed Kushan forces (the Kushans were

part of Mashadistan). The Kushans were defeated by the Jara-Nasi and those not killed in battle were

taken as prisoners of war. The Jara-Nasi marched the Kushan POW's far to the south in the midst of winter

snows for about 300 miles. During that infamous march many Kushans died of exposure and freezing. The

Jara-Nasi would not allow the Kushan to stop and bury or cremate their dead and the bones of the dead still

lay along the way today as the Jara-Nasi still refuse the Kushan the right to bury the dead! Since that

time many in Kushan have blamed the Dharbin for abandoning them in the midst of battle and harbor ill

feelings towards their former Dharbin allies. However, recently efforts have been made to improve

relations between Kushan and the Dharbin under the leadership of Emir Adan.

His Highness has frequently expressed his desire to continue to transform Kushan into a modern Islamic

State but to “maintain our traditional tribal roots and not exclude nature.” The capitol city of Kushan

has many sprawling natural landscaped parks reflecting the Kushans ties to nature, the desert, and

wilderness. Naturalism is encouraged in Kushan and, in fact, most Muslims in Kushan see Islam as a nature

religion. It might be noted that the majority of the Kushan population still does not live in the towns or

cities instead preferring to dwell in the desert wilderness.
